clips and trailers: X-Men: First Class (2011)
1 CommentI’m a big fan of the X-Men.
Well, more accurately, I’m a big fan of the X-Men films and that brilliant cartoon they had in the ’90s – here’s a flashback for y’all. Oh how I loved that cartoon… I had the theme as a ringtone for a while. It was so good… Anyway, I’m getting sidetracked. I don’t know anything about the comics is basically what I’m trying to say here. I hear they’re good though.
As big a fan as I am though, I even enjoyed the much maligned X-Men: The Last Stand, I did not like the X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I had to draw the line there. That’s ok though, I just don’t regard it as a real X-Men film…
… As a result I am very much looking forward to X-Men: First Class. I was initially a bit apprehensive over the idea of a prequel, just because of Wolverine being an origin story and all, but I really enjoyed Kick-Ass (the last film Vaughn and Goldman worked together on) and I’m a sucker for trailers with cool music and the teaser trailer for this has just that. So, I’m up for this one.
Does anyone know what that tune is btw or was it just created for the trailer?

Anyway…interesting how they’ve co-opted the Bay of Pigs fiasco into the storyline.
The international trailer is new to me and has two characters I didn’t expect.
It looks like Banshee is in there from 0:59 to 1:01. The giveaway was the weird stretch of cloth from his wrists to his hips…kinda like a sugar glider’s “wings”. It’ll be funny because in the comics, he flies by screaming.
Then at 1:12…is that Emma Frost? The White Queen?
