movie news: First Full Trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012)
1 CommentGood news everybody!
They’ve released the first full trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. And it’s not just dwarves singing!
I’ll be keeping track of new clips, trailers and production video as they are released on some of my other pages, but I thought it warranted a news piece by itself. You can see the other videos here – The Hobbit clips and trailers – and here – The Hobbit production videos.
In case you can’t tell, I’m very excited about Peter Jackson’s adaptation of The Hobbit. It was one of my favourite books growing up (yes, yes, I know) and well… come on, The Lord of the Rings films were pretty impressive.
This of course is just part one of what is now going to be a Hobbit trilogy. The second film, now titled The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, is due out on 13 Dec 2013 while the third, The Hobbit: There and Back Again is due on 14 Jul 2014. I do hope they’re good. I don’t know how they’re going to stretch it out to three films but I have to have faith.
Have a look at the trailer below and let me know what you think. Are you as excited as I am?
I consider Lord of the Rings to be among the finest cinematic achievements in motion picture history. As for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the closest approximation is The Phantom Menace. I liked The Phantom Menace back in May 1999 and I still do (in defense of… ). But I now know exactly how those who disliked or hated Episode One felt on that fateful evening 12.5 years ago. I feel your pain, for now it is my pain as well..
