clips and trailers: Attack The Block (2011)

Proudly on the poster, Attack The Block proclaims “From the producers of Shaun of the Dead“.

Now, I love Shaun of the Dead, that’s why I’m choosing to ignore that line… I don’t want to burden this innocent first time feature director with those kind of expectations. Let’s let him stand on his own two feet.

For what it’s worth, I think this looks pretty good. Kids from a council estate in the UK fight back against an alien invasion. I like the idea. I just hope it doesn’t play too hard for laughs. That is, I hope there’s a bit of good drama and action in this too… I like new directors to show they have a bit of range.
